Hi. First post, nice to meet everyone. So I've found a few pages online that advocate for encapsulating attic ac ducts in hot, humid climate attics with ccSPF (closed cell spray foam). Note, this is not about sealing the entire attic/roof with spray foam, but rather applying ccSPF around a suspended ac duct.

Some of these articles are approaching 10 years old. Is this strategy still recommended? I am a bit confused because when I ask local vendors about this they don't understand what I am talking about, and even searching google for "miami ac duct encapsulate" doesn't return the slew of hvac vendors who are active hvac marketers. I even had a duct specialist vendor inspect my ductwork this week who found my attic duct leaking, but their proposal, which included replacement of ducts in the attic, did not offer ccSPF duct encapsulation. Everyone offers (re)sealing of ducts and new ducts with mastic sealing, but not ccSPF wrapping.
I am confused because there are published articles from energy.gov advocating that encapsulation of attic ac ducts with ccSPF is the next best thing to running ducts in conditioned space. But then why isn't everyone doing this?
Any guidance greatly appreciated. Thanks.
