New American Standard Units

We had 2 new ac unit's installed a few months ago. We went with American Standard and had both the outside unit's and coils replaced - with a silver 3.5 ton 16 seer (downstairs unit) and a silver 3 ton 16 seer (upstairs unit).

A few things have been taking place since then and I want to make sure there's no issues I should be concerned about.

First, the humidity reading upstairs has gone way up since the install. It used to read around 50-55% (we live in South Texas), but now it gets as high as 90% after it has run a while. I swapped the Nest thermostats between upstairs and down and it still read really high.. But then when I bought a humidity reader off amazon it says the humidity is fine, which made this all the more confusing. Especially since the nest didn't read high humidity before the new ac's were installed.

The other issue is that the 3.5 ton (downstairs unit) runs way louder than the 3 ton.. I would expect a small amount, but not this much. It is significant enough that even my neighbor has commented on it.

I had the ac guys come back out. They have no idea what is going on with the nest humidity reading, but they did note that the downstairs unit was overcharged from the install. They fixed the freon charge level and acknowledged that the 3.5 ton was louder than they had expected, but they have not been able to explain why it is this loud.

Should I be worried? Is this 3.5 ton unit just supposed to be this loud? Could it be from operating while overcharged (in 100+ degree weather for 2 strait months, we had a big heat wave)? Also, has anyone ever experienced the nest reading different humidity levels after a new unit was put in ?

Any help/insight is appreciated!
