Carrier and Daikin market lines of midrange modulating heat pumps (ICP/Carrier/Bryant Ion line and Daikin Fit). I have read here that without communicating controls, modulating heat pumps like Bosch will only provide 2 stages rather than 5 or more. If sized for heating, a Bosch heat pump may not ramp down enough for cooling, I'm told.
For these reasons, I am considering ICP and Daikln. However, I have noticed that Carrier is not popular with many pros here. Is this because the equipment is less reliable or because of the way Carrier treats customers, or is it something else?
