Hi Guys, Hope I put this in the right place.
I have a 3 year old system, outdoor unit is 20k btu, indoor units are 12k for living room and 6k for the bedroom. I had multiple quotes and all the guys calculated that for my space this would be enough. I went with the guy I liked best and he has been great. The units have worked flawlessly since instillation. They do struggle on the hottest days (which I disappointed in, since I would not have minded the extra $ to bump up in btu), but that is besides the point.
Just recently within the last week I noticed even on 84 degree days the house wasn't getting cool like it used to. The unit in the bedroom, which is pretty small by today's standards, was not cooling enough. I keep the door open to help cool the rest of the house. Usually with the door open the bedroom is freezing with the AC going.
I did some minor troubleshooting and found that cold air was coming out of the edges of the opening of the unit in the bedroom but not the center. The center had no air coming out of it at all. This makes no sense since the fan for these is a "drum" so the center is turning same as the edges.
I have called my guy, but it is the weekend and I don't expect to hear from him till Monday. Can someone please fill me in on what could be happening? Units are under warranty, the installer is a Diamond installer, so I have no concern that between him and Mitsu, they will make it right. But, since I have some free time, I want to understand what could be causing this.
Now, the issue fixes itself once I turn the unit off and turn it back on. But it happens enough that I don't think I can keep resetting the unit. It happens at nights, when I'm not at home, etc. I don't know how long between resetting, but did reset a few times and got ariflow from the center of the opening.
Thanks
Eddie
