Hello all - newbie in your presence. Newbie to the forum, but an old fart in the arts.
I'd like to read members thoughts regarding IAP thermostats. I'm just a regular old homeowner in central MN with pretty normal equipment: Bryant Plus 90 furnace with central air installed, Bryant air exchanger, Aprilaire humidifier - all professionally installed when the house was first built in 2005. Two controllers in the dining room: smart thermostat (Honeywell) and a manual Bryant Vent Perfect controller for air exchanger. One controller in the utility room: Aprilaire humidifier 600 (not 600A) with a manual model 56 controller.
I am tired of having to fiddle around with three separate controllers in order to maintain my home's comfort through the seasons. Been researching IAQ thermostats that can control my three systems from one controller, and to do so wirelessly. I like the looks of the Aprilaire 8910W and 8920W controllers, although the prices are up there.
So my questions are these:
1) Would these Aprilaire controllers be able to interface properly with my HVAC, air exchanger and humidifier? I understand the complexity involved and have delved deeply into the technical documents, yet would appreciate any real world experience from members whom have dealt with such scenarios.
2) Any other IAQ controllers that would fit the bill? Honeywell Redlink products (not overly keen on these), or other?
Please don't kick me in the groin too hard. Thanks.
