I live in an apartment with a dual zone heat pump. One zone is the bedroom, the other is the living room.
Both AC and Dehumidify modes work properly in the bedroom: They both cool and dry the air.
But in the living room, while both modes cool, the humidity goes up instead of down (you read that right: Dehumidify increases the humidity!)
I only run one zone at a time - one during the day and the other at night, but the humidity difference can be as much as 20% points (72% v 52%)
I've check the drain on the living room unit and it does not appear to be clogged. No large accumulation of water in the pan and it doesn't spill water everywhere when I disconnect the hose after running all day.
Any ideas of what the problem could be?
I know if/when I call the repair company (again), they're going to think I'm nuts (again), and so want to arm myself with a little knowledge beforehand.
Thanks.
