I just hired an HVAC company to do a change out of my old A/C system to a new Trane TEM8 air handler w/ the XV18. The HVAC company salesman was very adamant about having a new supply plenum built correctly instead of using the old duct work which was part of the original design of the home. However, after they installed the new system they forgot to install the new supply plenum and instead used the existing duct hanging from the ceiling. See attached photo.
How bad is this? How absolutely necessary is it do a supply plenum box instead? Should they come back to redo everything and correctly install the supply plenum? Or should I just leave it?
