I purchased a 992 square foot home. It does not have any forced air, heating ductwork or heat pump installed. I have been trying to get estimates but contractors are busy. the only estimate I have to install a new 14 seer american standard 3 ton heat pump with a AS tem4 3.0 air handler, 10 inch return, 40 ft of main duct, ameristar 17 kw strip heater 16 seer. second man /start refrgeration, system with out 7 vents that need to be installed along with ducting under house, cut in floor vents.. My question is the estimate came back at 21000.00 dollars? Is this over pricing or is this a high but no overly bad estimate? It just seems like a lot to me. I live in baker city oregon.
