We bought a house and we have a Trane heat pump system. As we moved from Texas to Florida, we never had this as we have a furnace. I was replacing the Honeywell thermostat with Amazon while setting up, it is testing the fan, I could not hear it turn on, I just said 'yes'. The a/c is cooling fine. But when I set the a/c fan from 'auto' to 'on' I did hear the click sound from the thermostat (it may be a signal), but I don't feel air coming from the vents.
I thought it is an issue with the Amazon thermostat, then I did the same on the other two original thermostats (Honeywell), I can hear a click sound from the thermostat but don't feel air coming. So, it does not look like a thermostat issue.
I am assuming fan means blower motor. If the blower motor is not working, it can't cool down right. How cooling/heating is working, but fan setting to 'on' is not working. Sorry, I don't have much knowledge of a/c systems. Appreciate input. I want to replace the other two original Honeywell thermostats with Amazon. But want to make sure if it issue or something with heat pump type of a/cs. I remember the previous Lennox system turning on the fan for recirculation.
