The mother-in-law's Compressor went out and the AC guy disappeared, so I'm being tasked with swapping out her compressor. It's a 2 1/2 ton Copeland scroll. Hers is a Goodman and I took the (new) used compressor out of a RUUD. I've been swapping "stuff" for more than 30 years and never had a problem, but never just a compressor. I'm also older and wiser now, and I have a bunch of ester oil sitting on the shelf, so I thought I'd ask here as long as I'm doing the job anyway. Do you guys add oil when swapping in a used compressor?
