I’ve gotten pushback from Lennox contractors when shopping for a 3-ton single-stage, AHRI matched, AC & horizontal TXV Cased-Coil replacement.
I want to keep the existing attic (cooling-only) air handler and just replace the older R22 compressor & evaporator (the line set is fine). This isn’t because I’m being cheap but just LOVE my air-handler and remember how painful it was getting it installed in the first place. Why are they looking at me as if I’m nuts?
It wouldn’t be an issue if I were replacing just the cooling portion of a hot-air Furnace so what’s the problem here… what am I missing?
