Hello experts,
I just had a Trane S9V2 furnace installed to replace my old oil furnace. I kept my old heat pump, a 10 year old single stage 3-Ton ICP.
The installer set up the furnace with an XL-824 thermostat and enabled the Warm Air Discharge. He explained that this slows down the variable speed blower from 1200cfm to 80% of that value (in heat pump mode only) which enhances comfort. Seems like this works similar to dehum mode except for heating.
He didnt answer one question to my satisfaction so I hope the experts can chime in. When the temperatures are cool I imagine the air flow reduction is not a big deal for the heat pump but in milder temperatures (say 50F) wont this cause high pressure issues? My heat pump does have high pressure switches but I dont want my condenser to be bouncing off the safety switch when it is warm outside.
Any thoughts?
