Hello everyone
I am going a little crazy and have spent quite a few $$ trying to fix this issue and the issue remains. If possible, I really need some advice on what could be causing droplets of liquid/water to be coming down from one of the pipes where the txv is located in the blower. I don't know anything about HVAC and have tried googling and cannot find a direct answer. I am in a first floor condo with the blower located in the ceiling.
The water droplets first started Dec. 2020. After googling I found or thought it might be the pipes sweating because the insulation was old. So I had a tech come out. I told him the pipes were sweating and if he could redo the insulation. He eyeballed everything in the blower area and said yes, it could be the insulation and then he checked the outside unit and said my freon was a little low so he refilled it and reinsulated the pipe with the txv by the blower. Well 6 months later, droplets appeared again. So I called a different tech from another company and told them I had some droplets on my floor coming from the blower area and the ac didn't feel as cool as it does normally. They came and the tech checked to see if there was a leak somewhere with a leak checker. He didn't find anything and said he can reinsulate the pipe but he also said my freon was a little low and they would refill it. Well a few months later, droplets appeared again. I called this same company and they sent another tech out. He also checked for leaks and didn't find anything in the inside blower or outside unit so he says that the issue could be the freon line underground. He says it is a common thing in the other buildings in my community as well and they have done these jobs for years. So I agree to get the job done because I want this nightmare to end which it did for about 2 weeks after they dug up the line and replaced it. Well here we are again. There are still droplets coming from the same spot and ac is not cooling as it should. I can't post images yet but the drops are coming from the txv and the pipe connected to it in the indoor blower area. Do you think this is a txv issue or something else? Do you think I should have the same tech come out or get someone else?
Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
