I was having some problems with the furnace cutting off after a few minutes. I found that it runs fine if I disconnect the high pressure switch terminals (and not shorting the wires). I was a bit confused by what this really means. because the schematic shows the "high pressure switch" and "low pressure switch" connected in series. I was expecting it to not run when I disconnect the lines.
I understand how the draft inducer pressure sensor works. But the high/low pressure combo sensor is also a bit confusing to me. There is a tube that connects both sensors together. One inlet to the bottom sensor comes from the draft inducer, and the second inlet to the bottom sensor comes from a tube attached to the burner housing. That same tube also runs to the gas valve. Any explanations would be appreciated.
Some pictures are attached.
