Hi all -- Hoping to get some creative ideas. I am planning a new build with an architect, who hasn't been very helpful in this respect.
In my new build we are creating what I'd call a vault in the basement. It extends off the foundation wall and will sit beneath the patio above.
I want to have this space get it's own heating and cooling -- not off the homes central HVAC system. Initially I thought the space would benefit from a mini-split, but it would need to go around a 90-degree to get to the side of the house and be buried, which I've read are both issues.
How else should I be looking to heat and cool this space? I suppose I could tie in to the HVAC using some kind of smoke dampening system, but I worry about fresh air.
I appreciate any and all opinions from folks on how best to do this.
Thanks!
