Goodman/Amana 2 stage HP not working correctly

I have a 5 ton 2-stage HP (Amana ASZ160601L) and 5 ton variable speed Goodman Air Handler (AVPTC61D14AA). I have had a ridiculous # of problems with the system since installation, to include a TXV replacement and an ongoing electrical issue that blew out the AVP transformer and my smart thermostat, just to name a few of the issues. I negotiated a longer than usual full-service warranty at purchase. The installer honored it until recently, saying that he feels taken advantage of, even though he admits all of my service calls have been legitimate. He now wants me to begin paying his service and labor fees, even though we are still within the negotiated warranty timeframe.

Here's my current issue. Soon after the electrical issue was (hopefully, finally) fixed, I noticed that when running in cooling mode, inside humidity level was going up dramatically (over 10-15%) when in stage 1 cooling. This has never happened previously and the supply air didn't feel cool during stage 1 as it used to before the most recent electrical problems. (Electrical issue came up during a time of heating use). When I made the service call on this, is when the installer/vendor said he refused to come out without being paid. He said there was nothing that could go wrong with the system to cause this issue, outside of a leak in the ductwork pulling in attic air. No one has been in the attic even around the ductwork for this to be an issue.

Since this time, the temperature has dropped again, and the system has been running in heat mode. But I am seeing the same issue, just in reverse: 1st stage heat is blowing non-heated air, and it does so until the unit changes to stage 2 heat, when it finally begins warming up. Unit works fine when the auxiliary heat turns on.

Does this sound like an issue that could have been caused from the electrical surges that were shutting the system down? Could it just be coincidence? Lastly, could this issue really be from a duct leak?

Thank you for taking the time to read this and reply.
