Last fall, adding a Daikin Fit A/C to our DM97MC furnace/CTK04 thermostat heating system began 8-weeks of daily error messages and lengthy furnace outages. Numerous service calls corrected installer errors, including replacement of the motherboard damaged during the A/C install. Since then, the furnace has worked, but more like an on-off single-stage furnace with shorter/more-frequent cycles, higher heat and faster blow, regardless of heating demands. Currently, the only thing that appears to vary is the length of time the furnace is on, or off (32% on, 68% off during a recent 7-day period we monitored). Replacement of the CTK04 with a Daikin One thermostat did not restore the furnace to its original operation. We believe re-establishing the long-duration, low heat/low blow cycles as configured by the original installer (same HVAC company) will solve our current dissatisfaction primarily inconsistent heat throughout the house and increased noise (more frequent start-ups, higher blow, plus expansion/contraction of ducts during/between cycles). The current service tech has refused to do so due to overheating concerns.
Is there something were not aware of that prevents this furnace from operating as it was designed to once A/C is added to the system? What changes might be made to the furnace settings to re-establish the furnace operation we enjoyed prior to the A/C installation?
