Looking for opinions on recent install (7 months) of trane XV80 2 Stage Gas Heat furnace TUD2B060A9V3VB with matched coil and outdoor condensing unit. Unit heats and cools fine and there are 2 identical attic horizontal setups with opposite airflows. One furnace has developed a metal on metal thumping when cool is commanded and blower spins to maximum rotation that also shakes the gas supply flex line. It is not constant and starts and stops on its own, it seems to be picking up frequency so I have looked to see if the struts and bracing was sufficient and tight and it is. Blower seems to spin well without any noticeable vibration, but when the motor spins to its highest velocity during cooling the heat exchanger tubing directly behind the burners start to vibrate I assume from the airflow velocity since during heat cycles and commanding the fan at low speeds it doesnt make the noise. I can visually see the shake and can manipulate the metal up and down behind the burner. Since it is encased behind the burner and to the side of the blower its hard to be certain and maybe they are not seated in the notches that help support and separate the exchanger pipework. Is this anything that is common or known with Trane? Ill call the hvac company, just looking for insight if this may be common. thanks for any info
