Goodman Ac Unit

Hi I have a Goodman Ac unit. My issue right now when it's set on automatic the system freezes while running. Yesterday I turned the fan on to help defrost the lines and left it on cool instead of turning the system off and running the fan only(which made the system thinks to run as normal). Guess what happened the system run as normal and does not freeze and shuts off outside as normal and turns back on to cool the home and shuts off as normal without freezing the lines. What can be the issues because clearly, the fan running all day to help defrost the system is what makes it not freeze. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks
