I had a new deck installed and the builder built the deck around my furnace vent, which I knew was going to happen. I feel like the deck beam is too close to the what I believe is both the furnace vent and fresh air intake (I think??). He said it is fine since it open air above and below the vent. I know nothing about HVAC and what is safe or not or what is code or not. I live in northern MI if that makes any difference. Pics show my situation as well as vent pipe with cap removed.
