Next week, we're replacing (2) 14-year old Goodman 14-SEER builder-grade air conditioners and single-stage gas furnaces with a Daikin FIT setup. Specifically, these models:
1st Floor: 4-Ton System
DX17VSS481AA
DM80VC1005CN
2nd Floor: 3-Ton System
DX17VSS361AA
DM80VC0603BN
As we approach our installation date, I'm wondering if I should be purchasing the heat pump version of the Daikin FIT instead, which will give us duel capability. We live in the Virginia peninsula area, where temperatures are fairly moderate. However, the temperature and humidity are pretty high during the summer months and in the winter when it gets really cold, we prefer gas heat.
DiversiTech Hef-T-Foot™
I'm also wondering if we should get a set of DiversiTech Hef-T-Foot™ installed on each unit. I see this done a lot on FIT installation on the west coast and it just makes the system seem a lot more stable. Plus it gets the systems off of the ground.
Below, I've included photos of the Daikin FIT system we'll be getting (with the Hef-T-Foot™ pads) and our existing Goodman setup, which we're replacing. Any help and/or advice is much appreciated.
