Hey guys, just joined, I have a lot of questions but wanted to ask a quick one first. Just got two new XR17 heat pumps installed to replace old failing units. Was expecting a big difference, kind of disappointed after all that expense. Anyway, I have an ecobee3 for each unit, and they seem to run for 10 minutes at a time, and I feel like its not getting warm enough. I was worried about short cycling, though I'm not sure that behavior actually qualifies. Anyway, my quick question is - is it okay that I changed the minimum compressor run time to 10 minutes? There is a warning in the thermostat that a bad setting here can damage the system, but I read some things in here that these units running for longer periods is actually better for them.
I just wanted to clear that up first so I know I'm not hurting anything, and then want to post a thread with much more detailed information to get opinions on whether I'm oversized or if I can adjust thermostat settings to get a more acceptable comfort level.
