I'm getting ready to replace my home's original nearly 20 yr old system. I've had a couple of contractors look at it and when I asked if the ductwork was adequate they both sort waved their hands and said it was fine. I'm pretty rural and these are small town guys, so I'm not sure. I don't know what I don't know, so I'm wondering what you guys think. I know that some things in this house are pretty goofy...it was built by a builder and some stuff (e.g. plumbing) was certainly DIY by him and not by a pro.
The current system is 2.5 ton for this floor but both contractors ao far suggested replacing with a 3 ton system.
The setup has returns coming in from both sides and supply out the top.
Are there major concerns that I should bring up? If I need to post better pictures of specific things, let me know. Thanks in advance!
