**Background**
I have a 2-year old 4-Ton Goodman electric Heat Pump. Not multi-speeds, not extra-high efficiency or anything. . . just the basic model. I was having some dirty-sock smell issues, so my installer had the distributor representative for Goodman come and look everything over with him. They tried adding a UV light, and some other things to eliminate the smell, but nothing helped, so the coil was replaced with a brand-new one which got coated by that place down in Florida before installation. Smell is gone (thank God).
**Here's The Question:**
One of the first things the representative tried for eliminating the smell, was rewiring the fan motor to High Speed. The first summer with the virgin system, I didn't notice a humidity problem, but last summer (AFTER coil replacement) I had MUCH higher humidity levels inside the house. I imagine that the coating on the new coil may be a factor. . . but my question is whether the higher fan speed affects humidity reduction or not?
