On Tuesday I heard my furnace fan start then switch off many times over. I called a tech and he found that the main control board attached to the fan was defective. On Wednesday he found one for my 18 year old York furnace (Board # P031-012367-001) and he installed it. He installed it and tested that warm air was coming out then he felt that all was fine then left.
After he left I noticed that the house was not getting up to temp and still has not even overnight. I have a damper system using an EWE Control board. My 1st floor thermostat is a Rite Temp 6022 programable and the 2nd fl is another Rite Temp 6020 non- programable.
At first the dampers didn't work right but after a a system shut down and back on they did. The system ran overnight- Wed-Thurs- and has not come up to temp. When I woke up yesterday morning the vent air was cool and it took possibly an hour for it to warm up. The system has cycled instead of staying on to reach the correct temp. Plus I noticed that the air was sometimes warm then coolish. Each other cycle was warm then cool air
The tech is came back to check and he cleaned the flame sensor and checked the limit switch. After that and a new filter the heat was great!
This morning the start up ,after the program ending, came out with cool air. I switched the thermostat off and on and them heat came out. Now it seems that every other cycle is warm /cool.
Now for some questions-
Bad board??
Would the installation of a new board shock the thermostats somehow?
Thanks for any help!
