We have 10 year old basic Carrier Heat Pump.
I know that to get a full defrost you need to have the time up on the defrost board and the coil temp probe must be cold enough to close the DFT switch.
So what happens if the time is up but the temp is not cold enough to close the DFT switch? Does the unit start the defrost cycle but them abort it (just like when you speed up time on the board at the jumper), or does it just wait for the next time cycle to end and stays in heating mode?
