We have a basic Carrier Heat Pump that is 10 years old (Model 25HCC5) that recently had its defective Aux Electric Heat unit replaced. Since then electric use has gone up slightly. (the Aux heat comes on during defrost and when the call for heat is more than 2 degrees, no matter what the outdoor temp is)
So my question..is it possible for a Tech to add a lockout so the Aux heat is not used unless the outdoor temp is less than 38F?
