So, this is a rental I own ... new renter ... last renter there for five years - no trouble calls on HVAC - northern Florida - 1600 SF single family modern construction, insulated house.
Renter has had two months of $300 gas bills - she had gas company out to check for leaks, no leaks. But, she said it won't shut off - always a bit of garble so I am gonna fix tomorrow. I would have done so earlier, but she didn't say anything. $300 gas bill is what I would expect on a 6000-8000 SF house.
Photos tell story - Goodman gas furnace (no electric backup), A/C only.
The odd thing - and, I never noticed until they sent a photo - the tstat has a sticker on it ..."For Heat Set to Emergency Heat."
Did the original installers use the wrong tstat? It looks to be a 3210 which is HP only.
What is a good go to basic tstat for this application?
