Hi HVAC pros,
Great site with lots of great info with knowledgeable pros!
We have a Ruud communicating HVAC system with 2 zones (downstairs is zone 1/upstairs is zone 2) managed by an EWC Zone Control system.
Received an alarm code this afternoon: A016_Z Zone 2 Damper Fault
I've searched this site and did a general Google search, but not getting any hits. I also checked the EWC site & forum, but no luck. The installation manual does not show this alarm code.
System seems to be working OK today. The only difference I noticed is that the zoning status on the Econet main tstat is showing both zones at same CFM (each zone at 50% of furnace total CFM while running on low stage). Prior to today, the airflow was split as 55% downstairs and 45% upstairs.
Any suggestions on what the issue might be?
BTW -- my original installation dealer is unavailable -- closed due to covid-19 breakout amongst their workers. Any suggestions on who to call? I do have the phone number for the Ruud regional technical rep (given to me by installation contractor a month ago).
System is under a year old (installed last spring) -- all equipment has been registered.
If it matters, here are the basic components
Furnace: U96VA (2-stage, communicating)
Condenser: UA17 (2-stage, communicating)
Zone Control: EWC Ultrazone
Zone Dampers: Rectangular ND with MA-ND5 actuator
Thanks in advance for any insights/suggestions!
