Hi, folks. . .hoping you can help us.
I have poked into some ASHRAE books and may take a Community College course, but, in the meantime-
For our way-oversized 169,000 input BTU/hr 1982 natural gas furnace, are there some gas pipe joints that I should be regularly putting soap bubbles on to check for gas leaks?
I thought I smelled gas once but the GaCo tech said it was aldehydes.
Over the years I have had an HVAC guy replace the gas valve once (I dont mess with gas piping) and I have replaced the air handler motor, inducer motor, circuit board for the inducer motor, and a relay on the control board.
When I get a 25 caliber bore brush Ill clean the heat exchanger.
Also have put hardware cloth on the roof stack to prevent animals nesting. We have CO and smoke detectors.
If theres anything I should buy from Grainger pls let me know.
Whatever yall have to say will be helpful! :)
