New construction - system runs propane furnace even with emergency heat disabled

Hi, hoping this forum can help me out here: This is a new system in a new 2900sqft house working its first winter. We have a Trane XL824 touch screen thermostat running our heat pump, a Trane "XR" model. I've got Nexia setup so that the installer can monitor(no change so far after 3 visits). I have a scheduled heating run of 69 degrees during the day, and 66 degrees at night.

We're seeing that it runs the propane furnace the majority of the time. It may start in the morning with the heat pump for a bit, but by the end of the day when you look at the data it shows many hours of furnace heat.

The furnace is supposed to be the backup. I don't want to use it, ever. Emergency Heat is set to "disable" on the thermostat.

The installer has been out 3 times, has replaced the thermostat, and has been unable to tell me why the furnace gets the bulk of the workload.

Our temps have been running between mid 30s to high 40s the past few months. I don't notice any difference in the way it operates.

Heat pump lockout was supposedly set to 35 degrees.

They're currently also using the "internet" temp to determine outside temps, if that helps anything.

Can anyone point me in a direction to go with this?

Much thanks.
