Heat Pump continuing problem

First off let me start by saying that I had a new home built back in 2000. The heat pump installed as part of the builders package was a Lennox. It served me well for 15 years and I only had to charge the refrigerant once in that time. So I had a whole new system installed because I started having issues and the condenser was shot. I had service tell me it had reached it's servicable life. So after getting several estimates I went with a Bryant preferred series 2 stage system. I had some issues early on and was not happy with the answers I was getting from the installer when they came for service. I eventually cut ties with them and went to another company for my service contract.
Starting in 2016 I have had to replace refrigerant in 2016, 2017, 2019 and the latest, a few days ago, yes I need refrigerant again.
There is obviously something wrong. I do not want to continue this cycle and am looking for a permanent fix not bandaids. Does anyone have an educated guess or experience with this as to why this could keep happening?
