Installed the Aprilaire 700 few weeks ago. Works fine, brings humidity level to 35-40% throughout home, where previously was under 20%.
Installed on the supply side, just above electric furnace, connected to hot water. Sealed up sides with duct tape. (see picture)
Problem is now furnace room gets very hot as heat comes out from the front of the Aprilaire unit(grills on grey front cover).
I hear fan and solenoid click on when furnace get call for heat, should the fan not prevent heat from escaping from the front?
Is this normal operation?...appreciate If anyone with experience similar to this can offer any input.
