AprilAire 1870 as a Fresh Air Vent configuration

Home: 2-story, 18-ft ceilings. 2800sqft. raised. spray foamed (open cell attic, closed under subfloor). Carrier Infinity communicating a/c. Southeast Louisiana

Hi all, I was looking at using an AprilAire 1870 to provide fresh air for my home. I was hoping to keep the installation somewhat simple. Looking over the manual https://assets.sylvane.com/media/doc...ion-manual.pdf (page 19 Figure 21) it appears that I can vent from outside straight into my supply and configure it to run as 'Vent-Timed' (page 20) which basically just runs it at intervals (regardless of the hvac's operation). At first I thought, oh great that seems simple. However, is that a good idea? Should I be pumping air into the supply if the blower isn't running? How would that affect my temperature in the summer? Thanks in advance for any insight into this configuration.
