I recently had my A/C fixed and it is cooling, but the cycle seems off and I don't know if I should get it fixed or if this is normal.
When my A/C turns on, it runs for about 3 to 3.5 minutes and then shuts off. I can feel it cooling but it usually shuts off before it has actually reached the degree it was set on. For instance, if I have it set on 76, it will come on when it gets to 77 and while it feels cooler, it shuts off before it reaches 76. It comes on every 15 minutes and runs for the 3 minutes. I am in Florida so the A/C runs all day.
My question is, is it within the normal range to have the A/C running for 3 minutes and then shut off (happens about 4 times per hour) and is it normal for the A/C to shut off before it actually hits the set temp, even if I can feel that it is cooler?
