I have a new outside ac unit with an older inside furnace.
The guy wired it up like this because he said it was not working with the new and the old.
The 2 wires coming from the outside AC unit are being tied directly into the thermostat as follows -
1 wire is going to the thermostat Y - reads 28V
1 wire is going to the thermostat Rc - reads no V
the common C is going from the thermostat to the furnace and then a another wire from the furnace C to a ground.
R is going from the thermostat to the furnace R - reads 28V
G is going from thermostat to furnace G
the thermostat is a honey well wifi and will not turn on.
Im assuming it has no power coming from the C wire.
