Hello, Ive been in my home for 5 years and every winter when we turn the heat on, all the windows have condensation on the inside of the home. Ive done allot of research and found this is due to high humidity in the home. At the moment the humidity has been 64%-78% at 68F inside the home. No water leaks inside and Ive also rerouted the downspouts outside. So today I turned on the ac (40F outside)and dropped the temperature 2 degrees to see how it affected the humidity. Within 5 minutes it dropped the humidity from 67% to 50%. I have a Bryant heat pump (model# 213BNA036-A) that was installed 10 years ago. I also keep a dehumidifier in the basement, which keeps the basement at 45%-50%. Are these heat pumps know to do this or could it be a wiring problem? They only thing I can think of would be to get a whole home dehumidifier, but wanted to see what you guys thought first. I didnt see any evidence of this when moving in but also didnt look. I couldnt image the previous owners living that way for 10 years. Im in Columbus Ohio. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
