Hello, Ive been in my home for 5 years and every winter when we turn on the heat all the windows form condensation on the inside of the home. Ive done allot of research and found this is due to high humidity in the home. At the moment the humidity has been 64%-78% at 68F. The humidity is usually a little lower than outside. No water leaks inside and Ive also rerouted the downspouts outside. So today I turned on the ac (its 40F outside) and dropped the temperature 2 degrees to see how it affected the humidity. Within 5 minutes it dropped the humidity from 67% to 50%. I have a Bryant heat pump (model# 213BNA036-A) that was installed 10 years ago. I also keep a dehumidifier in the basement, which keeps the basement at 45%-50%. The home is 1,280 square feet. Im really not sure what to do. Ive even asked Local HVAC contractors and they didnt have a solution. Are these heat pumps known for this? Or maybe something isnt wired correctly? Only thing I can think of is to get a whole home dehumidifier. I wanted to check with you guys before I did that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks! This is in Ohio.
