Hi all,
I have a new construction project with unique circumstances.
Customer has two sources of heat and I would like to find a way to control this with one thermostat.
Here is the setup:
He wants to have two sources of heat (1) gas furnace, and (1) boiler.
Here is the equipment: Gas Furnace, Hot water Coil, Cased Evap Coil, Condenser, and boiler.
I'd like to find a way so at the thermostat he can select to use the furnace or the boiler.
I was kicking around some ideas as to how to use emergency heat thermostat option for 2nd system.
I do not want to run this as a W2 so that they both run. need to use one or the other.
Even if I cant find a solution and use two thermostats. I still run into an issue because I need the "g" wire to control the fan on the furnace when the boiler is calling and sending heat to the hot water coil.
I talked to resdieo over at Honeywell and they think there is a way to do it using the 8000 series stat.
They sent me some literature and still don't see a way to do it.
I've kicked around the idea of using an isolation relay but am still confused on how I would wire that.
Can anyone think of a way to control two sources of heat with (1) thermostat.
