I have a GE fridge from 1950, works great. I went to defrost so I opened door 3 and inside sits a thermostat dial unit for freezer I turned it down to 1 and it sparked. It has never done this before. The only service guy says he doesn’t want to fix my fridge or stove anymore they’re too old. He’s old no one is refusing to service him. So I need help either fixing it myself or a new person in Niskayuna NY or Albany NY. I’m less than a mile from GE. Any thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated.
