Retrofitting Linear Diffusers (Replacing Grilles)

I have a new house under construction now, but it is too late to change anything at this point (builder won't allow and wasn't really an option). It's currently at framing stage.

Once it's complete, I'd like to retrofit linear diffusers and replace the standard square and rectangle grills that they will use.

There is no attic, the roof is a flat roof and the trusses appear to be about 2 feet tall. About 3800sf of living area on one floor, in the Phoenix area. 2 systems.

Is this a bigger job than it sounds like? More trouble than it's worth? Really I'd like to do it for the aesthetics and modern look, but I understand there are other comfort benefits as well. I wouldn't necessarily need to do the whole house but I count about 17 grills will be used. I understand there's a plenum involved with each one and that is probably going to be a challenge with the roof situation. I also understand it'll require a lot of drywall work. If it's a couple grand I'd be inclined to do it. If it's $10k I'd forget it. I could also skip the bathrooms and secondary bedrooms and spaces if you can retrofit just a few of them and don't have to do them all.
