I have an oil-fired Weil Mclain Gold boiler that supplies residential hot water and radiator heat. We are looking to convert to a hot water tank and remove the residential hot water function from the boiler. The installer said he will cap off the residential water in/out pipes on the boiler (where they go in and out). Is this all takes to convert the boiler? I wonder how the boiler will know not to run in the summer months...would any controls need to be changed? Thank you in advance for advice.
