Not an HVAC tech but similar problem for AC

I have similar issues but this is using the furnace blower for my AC. I only use the furnace during the summer for the AC because I live in a temperate climate.

Without the furnace being on, thermostat in the off position, fan on auto, I take the front cover off. The safety switch extends. When I put the cover on and it pushes in the safety switch, the blower turns on and stays on. To get it to stop, I turn off the switch on the wall which then turns off the furnace. I have seen this happen before and I can come back a few days, weeks later and turn the switch on and the blower doesn't turn on.

I called a friend yesterday who came over and is an HVAC tech, he says its the board, but after reading this, one of the posters says:

Four items put Day and Night DNP products into continuous fan and no heat
1-bad transformer 2-open limit/rollout switch 3-open fuse link 4- bad board

Mine is a Carrier Day and Night 396GAW000075ACCA

I'd appreciate any help and where I can get parts for this beast.

Thanks,

Paddy
