My recently installed TRANE 12,000 BTU series 23 split unit is not working as expected. After 3 re-sets on different days by technician the unit starts cooling but after a short period of time it no longer cools. Yesterday the outside temperature I estimate was about 95 F, it was a hot day though not unusual for my location in Puerto Rico. The measured voltage at CU was 250V and current was 2.8 amps. The measured 2.8 amps at such conditions yields an EER of 17.14 [12,000/[250x2.8] if we assume 12,000 BTU, this does not makes sense to me. As I see it key is the low amperage but I am not getting a direct answer yet. I am struggling with installer to have it fixed, by this time he should know what is wrong.
