I switched over my heat pump from cool to heat mode. When I call for heat, the compressor turns on for about 5 minutes and raises the air temperature at the vent 10deg Celsius above outside temp. Thermostat still calling for heat but compressor turns off.
If I put the unit in cool mode, it seems to work without issue. Air gets cool and compressor doesn’t turn off.
The unit doesn’t seem to cycle or restart. I have an ecobee 2 thermostat. If I turn system to off and turn back to heat, it will run for 5 minutes again. I changed settings in thermostat to not run AUX heat unless it is extremely cold outside.
Any help would be much appreciated.
