I need to move my heat pump outside by a few feet and it means the copper lines will have to run along the outside wall for maybe 8 feet before they can connect to the HP. I'm wondering how badly will this affect heating when temperature is the coldest (HP is rated to run until -30C).
In my case, on top of this outside run, the coper lines are going through my unheated garage (another 10 ft) before entering the heated home. I usually keep my garage at 5 deg C during winter. So, lets say its 25C outside, the copper lines will travel 8 ft at -25C and 10 ft at 5 C before entering house in my basement at 19 C.
Is this a valid setup to run a heat pump?
Thanks
Larry
