I have a 20 year old 50 Gallon propane Polaris unit that has never fired on the first try since new. Although with all this time it has never locked out, except for your normal failures like modules, igniters, etc, I've had the condensate drain cleaned but never dropped the burner. Now I am getting regular lockouts and looked to see the 4 nuts to drop the burner and noticed a flag terminal from a ground wire squeezed between the gasket and the burner flange.(not making contact), Could the blower/burner not having a ground connection directly to the two control modules have been the ignition trouble for 20 years? I realize I must have the burner cleaned also, but it hasn't locked out since I connected the ground to the blower housing.
Thanks Craigie
